Dan Drago
Dan was born on December 12th, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. At an early age Dan fell in love with Hard Rock and Heavy Metal by being introduced to it by the albums his older brothers brought home. Right away there were 2 guitarist that would change his life forever, Randy Rhoads and Tony Iommi. At the age of 13 Dan picked up his first guitar and tried to emulate his idols. At the age of 19 Dan formed an Alternative Punk band named Lustmustard. Lustmustard was a very popular underground band that was also pushed on Larry Mac's Locals Only Show. After playing in a few more local bands, Dan formed The Furnace in 1997 with Kevin Flowers. Dan is the only member to be in every incarnation of The Furnace. Dan was a primary songwriter for the band in its 9 year career. "It was an honor to play 9 years for a band that you loved. I am most appreciative of the fact that I got to meet great people along the way. I can never replace the friendships I have created with Paul, Casey, Army, Ryan, Rex, Garcia, Rock & Kevin. I am also extremely proud of the songs that we wrote. For me, there is nothing like creating a new song. That is what it is all about for me. I have so many highlights in our career that I couldn't just pick one as my favorite. They were all special in their own unique way." Dan is married and has 2 beautiful children. He is concentrating on spending as much time with his family as possible. On his musical future after The Furnace he says, "The door is wide open. I am working with Paul and Casey and looking to start a new band with them. I am also talking with Kevin and Paul to go back in the studio to record some old Furnace songs and write a few new ones. I am also talking with Ryan, Casey & Army to record some songs that we never got a chance to record. I will say this, I plan on continuing to write and record under The Furnace moniker. I think it would be great to bring back different musicians that have played within the band and record with them again."
